The Lady Pirates home opener was a success as they took on USC-Salkehatchie and ended the night with an 88-53 win.
Kristin Williams led the team with 19 points, going 5-for-10 from the 3-point line. Tai'Sheka Porchia and Zahra Daniel were right behind in the score column with 12 points each.
Tai'Sheka Porchia, Deborrah Redmon, and Douthshine Prien all contributed to the rebounding effort with eight boards each.
The newly crowned no. 24 ranked team in the nation hosted Bishop State on Tuesday evening. After a slow start, Pensacola was able to get into a groove and never looked back.
During the 93-42 win over the Wildcats, the Lady Pirates exploded offensively with three players in double digits. Leading scorer was Aniyah Brown with 18 points, followed closely by Caliana Fenceroy with 17, and Kristin Williams with 16 points respectively.
The Lady Pirates led 42-19 at the half and they were not done yet. In the second half alone PSC outscored their opponent 51-23 to secure the win.
While their offense was putting on a show, the defense was capitalizing on seven steals throughout the night. The Pirates ruled the boards with Tai'Sheka Porchia and Zahra Daniel coming away with seven a piece.
Standout player of the game, Aniyah Brown, was 8-for-10 from the field, 2-for-3 from downtown, and added three rebounds, three assists and one steal.
This win over Bishop State continues the Lady Pirates six game win streak and they will be looking to stretch it to seven on Saturday, November 20th at 1:00 pm CST, when they travel to Chattahoochee Valley CC for a Pirate vs. Pirate matchup.
