Lady Pirates Defeat Tallahassee

The Lady Pirates were on the road this past Wednesday to take on the Lady Eagles in Tallahassee (TCC).

After a four game losing streak it was their time. The Panhandle Conference started with a bang for the Lady Pirates as they claimed three wins in a row and a national ranking as high as no. 9. However, they found themselves in a bit of a rut both at home and away.

Perhaps the tides are changing again for Pensacola State. Against TCC the Lady Pirates proved once again that they have what it takes to dominate the competition from jump to final buzzer.

Tai'Sheka Porchia led Pensacola with 20 points while Kristin Williams came off the bench to provide 19 points. Zahra Daniel and Aniyah Brown also recorded double digit points with 14 and 10 points.

Head Coach Belford and her team returned with a much needed victory on their schedule. The final score was 87-62, and they will have a break over the weekend to prepare for their next home game against Gulf Coast State College.

The two teams have split the conference season so far with a win a piece.

Come out on Wednesday, February 9th at 5:30 pm to see the Lady Pirates take on the Lady Commodores, and do not forget it is also Military Appreciation Night.
