Lady Pirates Add Two Wins Over Thanksgiving

The Pensacola State women's basketball team hosted St. Petersburg College and Walters State over the weekend for their annual Thanksgiving Classic.

The Lady Pirates showed off a well balanced offense in a win over St. Petersburg. Every player scored in the game while five reached double figures. Ja'miyah Bryant recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Deborrah Redmon was the leading scorer with 14 points and Douthshine Prien had 10 points while adding seven rebounds. Gabriela Bendeck-Giron came off the bench for 11 points and was joined by Ja'Vina Jackson with 10 points.

PSC 68 Walters State 33

Pensacola hit the court running and never looked back as they took a 22-9 lead in the first quarter. They maintained their tempo the whole game and only allowed Walters a paltry five points in the final quarter.

Gabriela Bendeck-Giron came off the bench to score a team high 22 points on 4-of-6 shotting from 3-point range. Ja'miyah Bryant secured her second double-double of the weekend with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Deborrah Redmon added 10 points to the cause. 

The Lady Pirates will return to action on Tuesday, November 29th when they travel to Mississippi Gulf Coast for a 5:30 pm game.
