Lady Pirates Fall to NWF

Pensacola's frenzied attempt at a comeback in the second half came up short as no. 4 ranked Northwest Florida held on for a 59-50 victory on Wednesday.

The Raiders jumped out to a commanding 38-20 lead as PSC struggled to find the bottom of the net in the first half. This did not deter the Lady Pirates as they turned up their defensive intensity coming out of halftime and fought to get back in the game.

Back-to-back steals with offensive conversions from Ja'miyah Bryant and Nataya Lockett allowed Pensacola to get within single digits with 3.30 left in the game. Despite their effort the gap could not be closed and NWF remains undefeated in conference play.

Nataya Lockett led the Lady Pirates again on the offensive side scoring a game high 21 points. Pensacola's defense collected 14 steals in the game with Ja'miyah Bryant collecting six of them.

Pensacola State is now 2-2 in conference play and remains no. 16 in the NJCAA poll. They will have a bye this weekend and return to action at Chipola College on Wednesday, January 25th at 5:30 pm.
