The Pensacola State women's basketball team started strong at Northwest on Saturday, but ran out of steam in the fourth quarter.
A strong defense that forced 21 turnovers in the first half helped the Lady Pirates hold a 10 point lead going into halftime. The score was notched at 47 at the start of the fourth quarter, but Northwest took the lead with a 3-pointer at the seven minute mark and never looked back.
Douthshine Prien had an outstanding day scoring a game high 25 points while swiping eight steals. Nataya Lockett contributed 12 points and Ja'miyah Bryant grabbed a team high seven rebounds.
The Lady Pirates will travel to Gulf Coast State on Saturday, February 11th for a 2:00 pm tip off.
