Lady Pirates Add Two Wins

The Pensacola State Lady Pirates were home for the first time this season, hosting East Georgia State, Southwest Mississippi, and Tallahassee Community College in the "Pensacola State College Tip-Off Classic".  Over the weekend, The Lady Pirates faced two new opponents, however, the results were the same as the previous weekends with PSC coming out on top.

In their 2023-2024 home opener, the Lady Pirates took a commanding 79-62 victory over the Lady Bobcats of East Georgia State. High energy, smothering defense and hot shooting early in the contest helped Pensacola comfortably secure their fifth win of the season.

Gabriela Bendeck-Giron led PSC in scoring for the third time in six games, netting 19 points. Reina Green had 17 points while Audreonia Benson added 16. Tanita Swift filled the stat sheet contributing 16 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals.

Charlese McClendon had 25 points with 18 rebounds while Jasmyn Strobridge added 12 points for East Georgia State.

In the Tip-Off Classic's first game, The Southwest Mississippi Lady Bears defeated the Tallahassee Community College Lady Eagles 57-43.

On Day 2 of the classic, the Lady Pirates opened up the game with an early 12-2 lead over the Lady Bears of Southwest Mississippi at the 5:02 mark in the first period. The Lady Bears were able to make a run to end in the period down only 16-11. Pensacola led the entire game but were never able to pull away, eventually settling for the 54-47 win.

Tanita Swift had another solid game leading the Pensacola State squad with 13 points, five assists, and six steals. Gabriela Bendeck-Giron and Jaida McDonald each added 12 points while Audreonia Benson contributed 11 points. McDonald also collected eight rebounds to lead the Lady Pirates.
