Lady Pirates Extend Win Streak to 14-0

Pensacola State women made the trip to Ellisville, Mississippi on Sunday to face the Jones College Bobcats for their final contest heading into the holiday break. With only six Pirates available for the match-up, the Pirates were able to take care of business and extend their win streak to 14 games with the 85-43 win over the Bobcats.

With the win, the 7th ranked Pirates move to 14-0 on the season.

Jones College (3-7) managed a 1-point lead with 8:47 remaining in the first quarter. Moments later, the NJCAA Top-10 ranked Pirates began to overwhelm the Bobcats on both ends of the court to take a 23-12 advantage after one period of play.

PSC continued to dominate the contest as the lead grew to 42 before the final horn would sound.

The Bobcats had no answer for Jaida McDonald as she logged a career high 33 points to go along with 13 boards. McDonald's stellar play has been a staple of the Pirates success with the freshman forward contributing 15.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

The Pirates leading scorer, Gabriela Bendeck-Giron (17.9ppg), added 16 in the game with 13 rebounds and five assists. Tanita Swift had 12 points, 11 boards and fell two assists shy of recording a triple-double with eight. Audreonia Benson added 10 while Katiya Casey and Terrianna Wilburn rounded out the Pirates scoring with nine and five points, respectively.

Aasia Wilson, Allison Liddell, and Valencia McFall each had 12 to lead the Bobcats scoring attack.
