Lady Pirate Come Up Short Against Tallahassee

The Lady Pirates offensive struggles continued Wednesday night as they fell 62-48 to the Eagles of Tallahassee State College. No. 20 Pensacola State (15-5, 0-2) went into the matchup hoping to secure their first conference victory of the 2025 campaign.
Pensacola committed 20 first half turnovers and found themselves trailing 35-17 at the break. In the second half, Tallahassee State (9-9, 1-1) refused to relinquish any ground and continued to control the game on their way to an NJCAA Top-25 upset.
A bright spot for the Lady Pirates was the resilient play of freshman guard Talia Kemp. After being forced to sit 12 minutes of the first half as a result of foul trouble, Kemp erupted for a game-high 21 points all coming in the second half. Audreonia Benson added 13 points and a team high five rebounds.
The Eagles had a balanced scoring attack getting 15 points from Santianna Davy while Kalisha Phillips and Tierra Coleman both added 11.
