Pirates Takedown the Eagles 79-53

Pensacola State was able to secure their first Panhandle Conference win of 2025 as they played host to the Tallahassee State Eagles (TSC). The Pirates kicked off the second round of conference play on Wednesday night with a victory, avenging their January 15, 2025, loss to the Eagles.
Pensacola State (16-7, 1-4) dominated the Eagles early, jumping out to an 11-0 lead by the 5:35 mark in the first period. The Pirates extended the lead to as many as 19 before TSC (9-11, 1-3) managed to cut the lead to 33-20 by halftime.
In the second half, the Pirates went on to outscore the Eagles 46-33 on their way to the 79-53 victory.
Jaida McDonald had an efficient outing going 11-of-13 from the field and 3-of-6 at the charity stripe for 25 points. Katiya Casey and Tamya Hutchinson added 16 and 14 points, respectively. Freshman, point guard Talia Kemp recorded a season-high 13 assists.
Kalisha Phillips and Zhaniah Ervin both logged 12 points apiece to lead the Eagles scoring attack.
