Shynia Jackson enters her first year of coaching by joining Pensacola State Lady Pirates. Jackson’s education at Jacksonville University culminated in a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences. For the first three years of her five-year career in college basketball she attended East Tennessee State University. After that, she moved on to Jacksonville University for the final two years.

Jackson did a lot while attending ETSU both inside the college and the community. Building lasting relationships, making a difference through volunteer work like visiting schools to read, assisting with marathons for the city, and more are just a few examples.

Jackson gained a lot of familiarity with the players on campus and in the department while attending Jacksonville University, making her a fan favorite to watch and be around. Jackson decided to pursue a career in coaching because of the coaching staff's strong leadership. Jackson experienced the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) in Dallas, Texas, in 2023.

An alumnus of Warner Robins High School, Jackson is a native of Warner Robins, Georgia. She guided Warner Robins to back-to-back Region Championships and a Sweet 16 appearance. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
