Valentina is originally from Bogota, Colombia. She first started playing soccer when she was 13 and fell in love with the sport. Her journey with soccer took her to the Bogota state team and later to the U20 Colombian National team, where she competed in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in Brazil, helping to bring Colombia to a 3rd place finish in South America. This opportunity led to her being offered a soccer scholarship at Mississippi State University.

After a torn ACL she transferred to Illinois State University where she was then called back home to play on the Colombian National Team for a second time. This time in the World Cup qualifiers in Ecuador, winning a 3rd place finish. Once she had finished playing with the National Team, she returned to the States, only this time under an academic scholarship to the University of West Florida, where she graduated Fall 2021 with a degree in Biochemistry.

Now Valentina works full-time in the R&D department of a biotechnology company and lives with her husband, Michael, in Downtown Pensacola.
