Five Volleyball Players Make All-Panhandle Team

The Pensacola State volleyball team placed five players on the All-Panhandle team with four being named First Team and one Second Team.

Freshman setter Lindsey Stewart made the First Team as she collected 1045 assists on the season which was good enough to land her in the NJCAA top 20 rankings.

Reilly Landreneau, a freshman defensive specialist, recorded 487 digs and averaged 4.55 digs per set this season. This was good enough to place her on the First Team and she ranked in the NJCAA top 25 for digs. Landreneau was also named to the 25 Dig Club for the state of Florida four times.

Freshman Alex Pierre was also named to the First Team as she tallied 183 kills for the season and had a solid .310 hitting percentage. She contributed 40 solo blocks and had 104 total blocks this year.

Madison Fisher, also a freshman, rounded out the First Team selection with a team high 227 kills for the season and a .194 hitting percentage. Fisher also amassed 215 digs and 43 blocks.

Sophomore transfer Beaudine Verweij was the only Pirate to make the Second Team. She had a total 157 blocks and averaged 1.59 per set. This put her in the NJCAA top five for blocks per set.

Head Coach Jennie Belarmino said, "I am proud of the players for making the All-Panhandle Conference team. They deserve the recognition from all the hard work they put in during the summer and this 2019 season. I am looking forward to the freshmen returning for next season and we have a great foundation to build off of for Pensacola State volleyball."
