The Pirates faced a very tough serving opponent on September 4th and ended up falling to St. Johns River in three sets.
The Vikings hitters showed off stronger hitting throughout the match, but the Pirates fought at the net leading the match with six blocks total against two from the Vikings.
Amaya Bazemore led the Pirates with eight kills and hit 0.235, while Sophia Ortega commanded the back court with 13 digs and Kat Espinosa chipped in 23 assists.
This weekend the Pirates will be on the road for the first time this season. They are headed to Pasco-Hernando to play the Bobcats at 6:00 pm EST on Friday, September 10th and on September 11th, they will face the St. Petersburg Titans at 1:00 pm EST.
