Volleyball Sweeps the Weekend
The Pirate volleyball team hit the road this weekend and returned home with two wins.

PSC 3 Pasco-Hernando 0
The Pirate volleyball team hit the road this weekend and returned home with two wins.
On Friday, the Pirates started strong in the first set against Pasco-Hernando State and never relented.
The Pensacola defense held the Bobcats to a .109 hitting percentage in the first set and a .167 hitting percentage in the second set. On the flip side, the Pirates had a powerful second set recording a .310 hitting percentage.
During the third and final set of the match, Pensacola trailed the Bobcats for most part of the set, but they were able to change the tide and clinch the 3-0 win.
Sophia Ortega led the Pirates with 12 kills and Brooke Sproat was right behind with 11 kills with an outstanding .526 career high hitting percentage.
PSC 3 St. Petersburg 0
Pensacola started hot on Saturday and jumped out to a 9-0 lead over St. Petersburg while utilizing their gutsy defense.
The Vikings proved to be gritty and used aggressive serves to bring themselves back into the match.
Offensively PSC gave the fans a show and achieved a season high .450 hitting percentage in the second set. Amaya Bazemore once again led the Pirates with 12 kills while hitting .524, while Kat Espinosa helped her fellow Pirates with 25 assists.
The Pirates are home this upcoming Wednesday, September 15th and will face their Panhandle neighbor Gulf Coast State College at 6:00 pm.
Student Activities will be hosting a fun cookout outside of Hartsell Arena for a pre-game snack. Bring your Student ID to get free food amd be on the look out for more details coming on social media.
PSC is then back on the road to play their postponed matches against South Florida State College on Saturday, September 18th and Palm Beach State College on Sunday, September 19th.
