Volleyball Picks Up Two Wins on the Road
Pensacola volleyball kicked off a successful road trip down south this past weekend when they clinched a 3-0 win over South Florida State College on Saturday.

Pensacola volleyball kicked off a successful road trip down south this past weekend when they clinched a 3-0 win over South Florida State College on Saturday.
The Pirates had their best serving performance of the season as they finished the match with 11 service aces. Offensively, Pensacola recorded a solid .220 hitting percentage.
Defensively, the Pirates picked up 68 digs in the match, including a team high 21 from sophomore Sophia Ortega. Ortega also shined on the offensive side, smashing 10 kills to complete her first double-double of the season.
Kat Espinosa started the third set on fire, stringing together three aces in a row to help jump the Pirates out to a 6-1 lead. Pensacola State kept their foot on the gas and finished the third set with a 25-14 score to close out their fifth win of the season.
On Sunday, Pensacola faced Palm Beach State and walked away with a hard fought 3-1 win.
The Pirates jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Panthers leveled up their offense and won the third game 25-16.
Pensacola responded in the fourth set and made a statement by recording 19 kills and ending the game.
Tiana Curry had a outstanding performance with a season high 17 kills, while hitting .316. Cheyenne Strickland was right behind with 12 kills and a game high .407 hitting percentage.
As a team, PSC had one of their best defensive outcomes, combining a total of nine blocks and 61 digs.
Pensacola will host Coastal Alabama-East in Hartsell Arena this upcoming Wednesday, September 22nd at 6:00 pm.
