Pirates Win Four During Inaugural Pensacola State Invitational

The Pirates played at home over the weekend, hosting five teams inside Hartsell Arena. Each team took on four opponents in the first ever Pensacola State Invitational. 

PSC went 12-1 in sets with all matches combined, adding four more wins to their schedule. Their weekend success boosted them up to no. 16 in the National Junior College Athletic Association's poll for Division II. 

Tiana Curry led the Pirates in points scored for the weekend, bringing a total of 44 kills and three blocks. Brooke Sproat was right behind adding 36 kills and three blocks as well. Julia Neveu kept the Pirates in games with 42 digs and five service aces. 

Pensacola State will now be faced with the challenge of two road games as they journey into the second half of the season. Friday, September 23rd PSC will go against Lake-Sumter State College (4:00 pm CST), and they will face St. Johns River State College on Saturday, September 24th (12:00 pm CST). 

Pensacola will travel for games on Monday, September 26th against Enterprise State Community College and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College. 

After those matches the Pirates will host Gulf Coast State College at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28th and will be raising awareness to Childhood Cancer Month (September).
