Volleyball Releases Schedule

PENSACOLA, Fl. - Pensacola State College Volleyball has announced its 2023 schedule, which will include an opening season tri-match, three tournaments, and 12 home matches in total.

Ending their 2022 season with a record of 25-8 during the Gulf District Tournament semifinals, the Pirates have a big 2023 schedule ahead of them. Starting with a tri-match season opener for the Pensacola State team, hosting Northwest Mississippi Community College and Coastal Alabama-East at Hartsell Arena on Thursday, August 17. 

On the following weekend, PSC will make their way to Santa Fe College for a two-day tournament where they will face two ACCC teams—Lurleen B. Wallace CC and Enterprise CC—and host Santa Fe College on August 25-26.

The Pirates are hosting their 2nd Annual Pensacola State Invitational. The tournament will host 6six teams, with four matches apiece, hosting a total of 12 games for the weekend. There will be plenty of volleyball action for all spectators. Pearl River is the first opponent for the Pirates' at the tournament, being played on Thursday night, August 31st, at 6pm. PSC will then have two matches on Friday and one last game on Saturday to end the tournament.  

"We are super excited to be hosting the 2nd Annual Pensacola State Invitational. We have competitive teams coming to our arena and the weekend will be filled with lots of great volleyball. We have key players returning to the team and we added some amazing young ladies to join our '23 roster. On top of that, we also get the chance to show off our new floor design at the Hartsell Arena, it's beautiful!", says Head Coach Patricia Gandolfo.  

The first conference match will be played on Friday, September 8th against the Lakehawks Lake Sumter, followed by St Johns River State College on Saturday. PSC's last regular season matches are on the road, competing at the 2023 Warhawk Showdown, hosted by Calhoun Community College, on October 27-28.   

Palm Beach State College is the host for the 2023 NJCAA Gulf District Tournament, running on the first weekend of November in Lake Worth, Florida. 

PSC is returning First-Team (North Division) All Sun-Lakes Team and NJCAA Gulf District Tournament All-Tournament Team recipient Anyaliz Rodriguez and NJCAA Gulf District Tournament All-Tournament Team recipient Paige Patterson for their final seasons with the Pirates. 

The NJCAA Division II National Tournament is November 16-18 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
