Pirates Top #3 Ranked Gulf Coast

Pensacola State earned a great win against the Gulf Coast State College Commodores on Wednesday, September 13th.  

The Pirates visited the no. 3 NJCAA DII Volleyball ranked team, where they secured a solid 3-0 win (25-20, 25-21, 25-20).  

The Commodores remained in the fight throughout the entire match, but the Pirates refused to back down. 

Statistically on the match, freshman, right side hitter Cadence Goeden led the Pirates in kills with 10, hitting an average of .272. Freshman, middle blocker Riley Carter also brought it with six kills, hitting an average of .454. The offense for the Pirates was handled by sophomore, setter Kiara Vega, who dished out 37 assists. 

The Pirates deflected the Commodore's offense with a total of 56 digs, 17 of which were added by freshman, libero Maddie Mire 

Pensacola State looks forward to hosting their fourth conference match against Florida State College Jacksonville this Saturday, September 16th at 1:00 p.m. CST.
