Pensacola State hosted the Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) Blue Waves on Saturday, September 16th for what turned out to be a 3-0 victory for the Pirates (25-16, 25-12, 25-21).

The Pirates were a force behind the endline as they totaled six aces, making it difficult for FSCJ to stay in system. Sophomore, outside hitter Anyaliz Rodriguez brought it with 13 kills, hitting an average of .300. Right behind her was sophomore, outside hitter Lyndi Bakker with seven kills also hitting .300. Freshman, libero Maddie Mire contributed to the fight and delivered 19 digs and six assists. Accompanying Mire was sophomore, setter Kiara Vega, who handed out 24 assists and made 16 digs.

The Pirates climbed the NJCAA national rankings and are now placed no. 12 in the country. They will be making their way to south Florida this weekend, where they will face three opponents (Pasco-Hernando SC, State College of FL, Manatee-Sarasota and St. Petersburg College) on September 22-24.
