Pensacola State College Women's Cross Country rounded out the season with two qualifying National Championship races.
The top two runners, Emmalei Miller and Kaydee Cook, both qualified for the 2022 NJCAA 5K race. Fortunately, the National Championship race was held in Tallahassee, Florida this year. The athletes had the benefit of familiarity with the course, having raced twice there this season already.
Emmalei Miller continued to be PSC's top finisher with her 5K time of 23:34. This was a full three minutes faster than she initially ran the course in September. Kaydee Cook trailed slightly with a finish time of 25:37. Kaydee's time showed a full five minute improvement from the beginning of the season.
These two athletes then turned around and ran as our first half-marathon team from PSC, just three days later. The half-marathon course was also in Tallahassee. Emmalei Miller completed the race in 1 hour and 52 minutes. Kaydee Cook pushed hard and recorded a 2 hour and 16 minute finish.
