Pirates Dream Season Comes to an End

The Pirates faced Cape Fear, the no. 15 team in the nation, for the South Atlantic District Tournament.

The Sea Devils were 10-0-1 up to this point, scoring 49 goals in those 11 games and giving up only seven. Pensacola stepped up to this latest challenge and on the first minute of the game Paige Phillips broke through on goal only to have it saved by the Sea Devils goalkeeper.

The Pirates combined for 15 shots throughout the game but just could not find the back of the net. Sidney Roest had 15 saves throughout the 90 minutes of play.

Coach Yepishin said this after the game "I could not be more proud of these ladies, traveling 12 hours over the last two days and going toe to toe with the no. 15 team in the country is incredible, this team has overcome so many challenges this year and it is crazy to think that we have only been a team since August 1st. We will learn from this and get better for next year."
