2024-25 Pirate Soccer News

What a year it has been for the Pirate soccer team. Undefeated in conference play, they emerged as Region 8 Division 2 Champions and South Atlantic District Champions. They were one of twelve teams to make it to the national tournament, finishing the year ranked number 10 in the country.

The Pensacola State College (PSC) Women’s Soccer team made history Monday afternoon with their first-ever appearance in the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament. Under the leadership of Head Coach Mark Yepishin, the Pirates continue to break new ground in just their second season as a program.
The Pirates wasted no time establishing dominance in the South Atlantic District Championship against Cape Fear Community College, quickly taking a 2-0 lead within the first seven minutes. Vivian Kettenhausen set the pace, skillfully dribbling past a defender before being fouled, which led to Maya Figueroa's successful free kick that found the back of the net. Just a minute later, Kettenhausen delivered a brilliant corner kick, which Figueroa assisted to Aiyanna Robinson, who scored, putting the Pirates firmly in control.
The Pensacola State soccer team excelled in the Region 8 awards, securing the Player of the Year title and seven out of eleven spots on the All-Region team.
