Pirates Qualify for NJCAA Tournament
The Pirates wasted no time establishing dominance in the South Atlantic District Championship against Cape Fear Community College, quickly taking a 2-0 lead within the first seven minutes. Vivian Kettenhausen set the pace, skillfully dribbling past a defender before being fouled, which led to Maya Figueroa's successful free kick that found the back of the net. Just a minute later, Kettenhausen delivered a brilliant corner kick, which Figueroa assisted to Aiyanna Robinson, who scored, putting the Pirates firmly in control.

Goalkeeper Remy Redmon played a crucial role, making key saves to keep the Sea Devils at bay, while Amelia "Mia" Johnson, the Region 8 Player of the Year, effectively shut down any threats from the opposition.
After the match, Coach Mark Yepishin expressed his pride in the team's performance. "I'm really proud of these ladies and how they stepped up from the first minute and showed the home team that we are here to play and we are here to win. Everyone wanted this victory—from the bench players cheering throughout the game to the starting eleven on the field. We set a goal at the beginning of the season to make it to the National Tournament, and here we are, accomplishing that goal. Now lets see what we can do against the best teams in the country"
In just their second year, the Pirates, now ranked 17th in the nation, have earned a spot in the National Tournament in Huntsville, AL at the John Hunt Park & Joe Davis Stadium from November 17 - November 23.
