News mentions

Pensacola State women’s basketball handed No. 2 Northwest Florida State Raiders (23-2, 7-2) its second loss of the season on Saturday in a hard-fought Panhandle showdown.

Pensacola State fought valiantly at Gulf Coast State and were 0.2 seconds away from pulling off the upset over the NJCAA ninth ranked Commodores on January 26, 2025.

Lady Pirates ended 2024 with a thrilling overtime victory against Miami Dade and also added a win against Calhoun College.

The Pirates traveled to Panama City to participate in the Gulf Coast State Classic over the weekend. The trip proved to be a successful outing for the Pirates as they picked up wins over ACCC member Enterprise State College on December 6 and GCAC member Central Georgia Tech on December 7.

The Pirates fell 62-53 to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs (MGCC) in the PSC Thanksgiving Classic. Pensacola State (8-3), who celebrated a 67-53 victory over MGCC (5-3) on November 18, 2024, were unable to overcome having a limited roster in their latest matchup with the Bulldogs.

The Pirates picked up another home win Wednesday night with a 98-42 dismantling of the Reid State College Lions.

The No. 24 Pirates came just short of pulling off an upset, falling 60-56 to No. 11 College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles on Friday. Pensacola State struggled to find offense in the first half and fell behind 35-16 at the break. The Pirates managed to outscore the Golden Eagles 40-25 after the break and got the deficit to just two points with only eight seconds remaining. A Golden Eagle steal on an inbound attempt would secure the victory for CSI.
